Suitcases Don’t Scare

Suitcases don’t scare

She says go

It’ll make things easier

When it’s official,

We wore coats to bed

Even with a warm moon overhead

House quiet even with noise

Growth trampled

I was praying for examples of recovery

She turned over looking at anything or anyone not me,

So suitcases don’t scare

Telling family members I don’t care

But don’t abandon me to despair

Explain where in silence we’ll find fair

Pulling out the small remainder of my hair

Years ago they said we were a sweet pair,

Now suitcases don’t scare.
