Deserted fire
Die down during gentle winds swearing surely it’ll be still again
Drift off and leave warmth grasping for your attention
Deserted fire I’m forgetting the lights of your flames.
+
Peak feelings extinguished.
+
Rain rain rain
Covered in ashes
Out of focus this no longer matters
But your smell haunts my clothes
Everything else gone cold
+
At camp laying by a lantern
My thoughts separated in a cavern
Tent submissive to breezes gentle and assertive
I’ll gaze above
To true satisfaction.
